8ft Christmas trees
An 8ft tree (240cm) is for a room with a ceiling of 2.75m or more: a hall with the stairs rising beside it, a double-height living room, a church, a school hall or a hotel lobby. It is about 1.4m across at the base and weighs up to 30kg, so it is delivered by two-person courier at no charge and goes up in three hinged sections. The 8ft group is small and deliberate: trees from £199 including the Snow Tipped Grey Fir with cashmere tips, a flocked spruce, and pre-lit firs with up to 800 warm white LEDs.

Measuring for 8ft
Measure at the exact spot. An 8ft tree with a 30cm topper reaches 2.7m, and a 15cm gap above that means a 2.85m ceiling is comfortable and 2.75m is the minimum. In a stairwell, check the headroom under the landing, not the ceiling at the top of the stairs. The floor space is around 1.5m square once the lower branches are fluffed, and the stand needs a flat, hard surface; a thick carpet lets a tall tree lean.
What the 8ft group includes
Three unlit trees, including the frosted Belvedere Pine. Four snowy and flocked trees, including the Snow Tipped Grey Fir with cashmere tips at £199, which is the most ordered 8ft tree. Two pre-lit trees, the Grampian Pine and a luxury fir, with 600 to 800 LEDs. One slim 8ft tree for a tall, narrow hall. Tip counts here start around 1,500 and the fullest trees pass 2,500, which is why they weigh what they do.
Assembly
Two people, twenty minutes. Fit the stand, drop the bottom section on, let the hinged branches fall and shape the lower ring before adding the middle and top sections, because you cannot reach the bottom branches once the tree is complete. A stepladder is needed for the topper and the top ring of lights. The top section of a pre-lit tree has its own plug that connects down the trunk.
Lighting an 8ft unlit tree
Eight hundred to twelve hundred LEDs, or two 480 cluster sets, one for the top half and one for the bottom so the plugs are reachable. Use a 30cm topper; a 20cm star looks small at this height. Eighty to 120 baubles in three sizes, with the largest at the bottom.
If 8ft is too tall
The 7ft and 7.5ft trees fit a 2.5m to 2.65m ceiling and have far more choice. For a commercial space that needs taller than 8ft, the commercial trees section is the place to look.
Common questions
What ceiling height does an 8ft tree need?
2.75m as a minimum with a topper, 2.85m to be comfortable. Measure at the spot where the tree will stand.
How heavy is an 8ft tree?
Twenty to thirty kilograms for a full tree, in two or three boxes. The courier brings it to your door; two people carry it indoors.
Is the stand strong enough?
Yes, the 8ft trees ship with a heavy-duty metal stand sized for the trunk. Stand it on a hard floor, not deep carpet.
How many lights does an 8ft pre-lit tree have?
Six hundred to eight hundred warm white LEDs in this range. An unlit 8ft tree takes 800 to 1,200.
Can an 8ft tree go in a commercial space?
Yes, these trees are used in receptions and halls. For public buildings check the venue's fire policy; the foliage meets the EN 71-2 flammability test but must still be kept clear of heat sources.
