Lighting accessories
The small things that keep a display running: replacement transformers for Snow Time sets, connectors and end caps for the connectable ranges, a mains extension lead, and the DriBox weatherproof housings that keep an outdoor plug and transformer dry.
Keeping outdoor plugs dry
Every outdoor light set has sealed LEDs and cable, but the plug and transformer are not sealed and must stay dry. The Weatherproof DriBox 200 at £9.99 takes one or two plugs; the DriBox 330 at £19.99 swallows a four-gang extension lead and the transformers plugged into it. Stand the box on the ground under the display, close the lid, and the cables exit through the sealed gaskets. It is the single accessory that prevents most outdoor light failures.
Transformers and adaptors
The Dual Power Adaptor Transformer at £4.99 lets a Snow Time battery set run from the mains, which is the answer when a battery wreath turns out to be near a socket after all. Replacement transformers for the mains sets are listed by maker; check the output voltage on your set's label against the listing before ordering.
Connectable sets
Snow Time's connectable LED range plugs set to set from one transformer. The circle-type connector joins two strings, and the end cap seals the last socket against rain. These parts fit only the connectable range, not ordinary sets.
Extension leads
A 7.5m two-gang mains lead in black reaches from an indoor socket to a porch display without the cable showing against a dark wall.
Common questions
Do I need a DriBox?
If the plug or transformer of an outdoor set would otherwise sit in the open, yes. Rain in a plug is the usual cause of an outdoor set failing.
Which transformer fits my lights?
Match the output voltage and plug type on your set's label to the listing. Transformers are not interchangeable between makers.
Can I connect ordinary light sets together?
No. Only the connectable ranges, which share a plug type and say so on the product page.
How many plugs fit a DriBox 330?
A four-gang extension lead with its plugs, or three to four transformers.
