The pieces people come for

The 10 Floating White Candles with a magic wand controller at £17.99 is the most ordered item in the department: ten flickering LED candles that clip into the tree and switch on and off when the wand is waved. The Set of 4 White LED Hanging Sparkle Lights at £36.99 hangs from a ceiling hook or a banister. The large star in a burlap base at £8.99 sits on a mantelpiece. And the infinity lights, mirrored boxes whose LEDs seem to run away into the distance, come in shapes from a 40cm Christmas tree to Disney, Marvel and Star Wars characters.

Infinity lights

An infinity light sandwiches a ring of LEDs between a full mirror and a one-way mirror, and the reflections stack up into what looks like a tunnel of light going back into the frame. They are the licensed pieces, Lotso the Bear, the Snowdog, a Westie in a Santa hat, and go on a windowsill, a shelf or a child's bedside. Most run on batteries or USB.

Power

One hundred and eighteen pieces are mains powered, thirteen run on batteries and eleven on USB, which suits a desk or a bedside where a phone charger is already plugged in. Warm white leads the colours with 51 pieces, then multi coloured and white.

Indoor and outdoor

Fifty-three pieces carry the indoor and outdoor rating and can stand in a porch or a window box; the rest are for inside.

Common questions

How does the wand on the floating candles work?

The wand sends an infrared signal to the candle set; wave it at the tree and the candles switch on or off. It runs on a button cell, included.

What is an infinity light?

A frame holding LEDs between two mirrors, one of them see-through, so the reflections look like a tunnel. The licensed character pieces are made this way.

Can I hang the sparkle lights from a ceiling?

Yes, from a ceiling hook or a curtain pole. Each set has a hanging loop and a mains lead.

Are the licensed pieces official?

Yes, they are Festive's licensed Disney, Marvel and Star Wars designs.
