Tree toppers
Two angel toppers from Festive, both 30cm tall and sized for a 6ft to 8ft tree: a white and silver fluffy angel at £19.99 and a golden angel with a gold tiara at £29.99. Star toppers are included with most of the boxed bauble packs.
Choosing a topper by tree height
A topper should be about a sixth of the tree's height: 20cm on a 4ft tree, 25cm on a 6ft tree, 30cm on a 7ft or 8ft tree. A topper that is too small looks like an afterthought; one that is too large makes the tree look top-heavy and needs a stronger top branch. Both angels here are 30cm, which suits the 6ft trees at the upper limit and the 7ft and 8ft trees comfortably.
Angels
The white and silver angel has a fluffy marabou skirt and silver wings and suits a white, silver or snowy scheme. The golden angel has a gold gown and tiara and suits a traditional red and gold tree or the pines with cones and berries. Both fit over the top branch with a cone at the base.
Stars
Stars are not listed separately because nearly every boxed bauble pack already contains one in the pack's finish. The lit star hangers under hanging decorations can also sit on top of a tree if the top branch is wired upright.
Fitting a topper
Check the headroom first: the tree height plus the topper has to clear the ceiling by 15cm. A 30cm angel on a 7ft tree needs a 2.55m ceiling. If the top branch of the tree is thin, wire it to the trunk extension so the topper stands straight.
Common questions
Will a 30cm angel fit a 6ft tree?
Yes, at the larger end. It needs a 2.25m ceiling and a firm top branch.
Do you sell star toppers?
Not on their own; each boxed bauble pack comes with one. A lit hanging star also works as a topper.
Is the angel lit?
No, both angels are unlit. A short battery string wound into the top branch lights them from below.
How does the topper attach?
A hollow cone at the base slides over the top branch or trunk extension.
