The parachuting figures
A fabric figure under a parachute, hung from a hook, a branch or a curtain pole. Press the button or clap, and it plays a Christmas tune and kicks its legs for 30 seconds. The Santa version is listed under outdoor silhouettes; the gingerbread man and reindeer are here. They run on three AA batteries and are the pieces that get a reaction from every child who walks in.
Gonks
The 87cm plush standing gonk in a red hat is a soft floor-standing figure for a hall or a child's room, with a weighted base and no batteries. Smaller gonks appear in the stockings and inflatable sections.
Hanging reindeer
The hanging reindeer with kicking legs at £19.99 is the smaller animated piece, for a door frame or a tree branch, on batteries.
Common questions
How are the parachuting figures triggered?
A button on the figure, or a sound sensor on some versions: clap and it starts.
How long does the tune play?
About 30 seconds, then it stops until triggered again.
Are they safe to hang from a tree?
From a strong branch near the trunk, yes. They weigh under 500g. A hook in a door frame is the usual place.
Does the gonk need batteries?
No, it is a plush figure with a weighted base and no electronics.
