What is in a pack

A pack of 33 has three sizes of bauble in matt, shiny and glitter finishes, plus a topper, and dresses a 4ft or 5ft tree. A pack of 50 dresses a 6ft tree. The Set of 60 Silver and Champagne Gold at £29.99 dresses a 7ft tree with some left over for a wreath or a mantelpiece. Everything in the box shares one scheme, so there is no matching to do.

Schemes

Silver and gold is the pack most people buy for a green tree; it works with warm or cool white lights. Blush pink with white suits a white or grey tree and a modern room. White iris is an all-white scheme for a snowy tree or a window display. Jumbo packs of 50 mixed silver and gold include a topper and are the cheapest way to a fully dressed tree at £14.99.

Adding to a pack

A boxed set gives the tree its bulk; a handful of glass pieces at eye level gives it character. Add a ribbon in the scheme's main colour and a 9m run of tinsel or garland and the tree is finished. For a 7ft or 8ft tree, add a dozen 14cm statement baubles low down.

Storage

The box the pack comes in is divided and is the right place to store it. Baubles kept in their box keep the finish; loose in a bag they scuff.

Is the topper included?
