Grey and silver Christmas trees
A small group for a particular look: grey needles, silver tips on green, or an iridescent finish that shifts colour under the lights. The 6.6ft Silver Tinsel Pencil Pine at £29.99 is the cheapest floor-standing tree in the shop and the one that goes in a narrow hall. The grey pencil trees are the same shape in a soft grey that suits a Scandinavian or monochrome room. The silver-tipped fir is a green tree whose branch ends catch the light. All are delivered free.

Grey
Grey trees are built like green ones, with hinged branches and PVC needles, in a pale warm grey. They work where a green tree would clash: a room painted in greys and whites, a shop with a muted palette, a wedding or a winter display that is not meant to read as Christmas at first glance. They take white, silver and pale pink decorations, and either warm or cool white lights. The 8ft Snow Tipped Grey Fir with cashmere tips, which sits in the snowy section, is the fullest grey-toned tree in the range.
Silver and tinsel
The tinsel pencil pine is a different object: strips of silver foil on a wire branch, bright under any light, narrow enough for a hallway, and cheap enough to be a second or third tree. It needs cool white or coloured lights, not warm white, and small matt baubles; glitter on tinsel is too much. The silver-tipped fir keeps a green body with silver ends, which is the subtle version of the same idea.
Iridescent
An iridescent tree has a pearl coating that shifts between silver, blue and pink depending on the angle and the light. It is a tree to light with cool white and leave almost bare. One is listed; it is the most unusual tree in the shop and sells out early.

Common questions
Is a tinsel tree any good?
For what it is, yes: 6.6ft of height, 50cm wide, bright under lights, for £29.99. It will not pass for a fir, and it is not meant to.
Which lights suit a grey tree?
Cool white or ice white keep the grey clean; warm white turns it slightly beige. Pink and white LEDs suit a Scandinavian scheme.
Are grey trees pre-lit?
The grey pencil trees are unlit and take a 400 to 500 LED set. The silver-tipped fir is also unlit.
Can I use a grey tree for a wedding or a winter window?
Yes, that is a common use: a grey tree with white lights and glass reads as winter rather than Christmas.
