Christmas trees £50 to £100
Between £50 and £100 is where the first full-size, full-width trees appear. This band holds the standard-density 5ft and 6ft unlit pines and spruces, such as the 5ft New Jersey with cones and berries at £79 and the 6ft Midnight Blue Fir at £99, along with the 4ft fibre optic trees, the flocked pencil pine, and the 4ft and 5ft microdot trees with 500 LEDs built in. Every price includes VAT and free delivery, and a 600-LED light set to go with an unlit tree costs about £20 on top.

What £50 to £100 buys
A proper tree for a standard room. At 5ft and 6ft the trees here carry 500 to 900 tips, which is a standard density: full enough once decorated, with the trunk visible if you look for it. They have hinged branches, a metal stand and PVC foliage with some PE tips on the better ones. Most are unlit, which is why they sit in this band; the same tree with lights fitted moves into the next one.
Unlit plus lights or pre-lit
A £79 unlit 5ft tree and a £15 500-LED set come to £94, which is £30 to £50 less than a comparable pre-lit 5ft tree, and the lights can be replaced on their own if they fail. The trade-off is twenty minutes of wrapping. If you would rather not, the £100 to £200 band has the pre-lit versions.
Other trees in this band
The 4ft fibre optic trees from Festive, which light every tip and change colour, sit at £60 to £90. The 6.5ft Flocked Spruce Pencil Pine at £54.99 is the cheapest snowy tree and the right one for a narrow hall. The 4ft and 5ft microdot trees, white or black frames carrying 500 LEDs, are around £79 and are rated for outdoors, so they double as porch trees.
Judging value
Compare tip count against height. Two 6ft trees at £95 can differ by 300 tips, and the fuller one will need fewer decorations to look finished. Then check the branch material: a mix of PE and PVC tips looks more natural than all PVC at the same count. Both figures are on the product page.
Common questions
Can I get a pre-lit 6ft tree for under £100?
Not a full-width one. The 6ft pre-lit pines start at about £129. Under £100 the lit 6ft options are the microdot and pencil trees.
Which is the best tree under £100 for a living room?
The 6ft Midnight Blue Fir at £99 or a 5ft pine at £79, with a 500 or 600 LED set added. Both are hinged, come with a stand and take 50 to 90 baubles.
Do these trees come with a stand?
Yes, every floor-standing tree in this band ships with its metal stand.
How much do lights add?
A 500-LED set is around £15 and a 1,000-LED set £24.99. Cluster sets with 480 LEDs are around £20.
