Rattan, beaded or wire
A rattan reindeer is woven from natural cane with the LED string threaded through, so it looks like a garden ornament by day and a lit figure at night; the 67cm Red Nosed Rattan Reindeer with 80 LEDs at £29.99 and the 58cm Lying Rattan Reindeer with 120 LEDs at £39 are the two most ordered. A beaded reindeer is a clear acrylic frame strung with micro LEDs, and the 60cm version with 500 LEDs at £49 is far brighter per size. A wire or silver twist reindeer is a 2D or 3D frame carrying LEDs, often twinkling, and reads as an outline from the road.
Where to put a reindeer
Either side of the front door for a pair of standing deer. On the lawn facing the road for a 1m deer. A lying deer under a window or beside a porch step. Inside, a 58cm deer sits on a hall table or in a bay window. Twenty-three of the 28 are rated for indoor and outdoor use; the three indoor ones are the beaded pieces meant for a window.
Power
Twenty-one are mains powered and six run on batteries, which suits a pair of deer by a door with no socket. Warm white leads with 14 pieces, then white, antique gold and multi coloured. Most have a timer.
Wind and weather
Rattan deer are light. Push the stake supplied into the lawn or weight the back feet with a brick inside the base. Keep the transformer under cover; the cane and LEDs take rain.
